Purpose and audience
Our purpose is to increase the clarity, accessibility and traceability of public treaty and land-use research in Western New York.
We examine Seneca treaty history, the Cattaraugus Territory, Buffalo Creek history and contemporary questions involving parcels, jurisdiction, legal instruments and development. We aim to make public-source research useful to attorneys, the Seneca Nation and affected stakeholders, historians, government agencies and professionals involved in land-use questions.
We do not speak on behalf of the Seneca Nation, its members, any tribal authority, any government or the courts.
